Prairie Women's Sewing Circle I & II

The Quilt Merchant is pleased

to announce the return of Pam Buda’s

Prairie Women’s Sewing Circle club!

As many of you know,

Pam is the creator and

designer of the PWSC club

and launched it right here in our shop!

She is returning to guide you as you

“journey the threads of time”

Gather together as the Prairie Women did,

and hear anecdotal stories

about their quiltmaking, and what daily life

was like in America during the 1800’s.

Some of these women traveled the

Oregon Trail, lived during our nation’s

Civil War, and fought for women’s rights.

And as always, you’ll have the option

to create quilts as they did,

by “Making-Do” with what they had.

At each monthly gathering of the Prairie Women’s Sewing Circle, you will learn all about a little know part of America’s quilt history ~ Make-do quilts! Each month you will receive a small reproduction quilt project pattern that will allow you the option to share in the unique “Make-Do” quilting experience with fellow club members. Pam will also be bringing in more antique make-do quilts for your enjoyment!

If you missed out on Journey 1 of the PWSC club, you have another chance as Pam is offering it again!

For those of you ready to begin Journey 2, you will be happy to know that there are six all new quilt projects and one bonus project .

Remember, monthly patterns and other surprises will be offered exclusively to PWSC club members only!

Featherweight Club

Instructor: Docia Fuller

Fee: $5 per session

Dates: 1st Thursday of the month, 6-8pm, starting January 2011

The long awaited return of the Featherweight Club is finally here! Docia is excited about resurrecting this club that celebrates the Featherweight sewing machine. Hers is named Lena. What's yours? Come for fun, camaraderie and a small project.

Jo Morton Club 10

Stitcher's Circle

No fee

We are pleased to bring you a daytime and evening club for hand stitchers! Whether it be punchneedle, wool applique, redwork, cross stitch, handquilting, etc. we invite you to bring your projects and enjoy a time of handwork. Need advice? Pick the brains of other stitchers and see how much you can learn! No registration needed.

1864 Wool Block of the Month Club

Instructor: Valerie McCallum

Fee: $65 registration for 6-month class (supplies not included)

Kit price: $65/month (includes pattern, cotton & wool)

The Quilted Crow, a company out of Australia, has recently released this beautiful 6-month Block of the Month program called "1864". We're thrilled to be running this program at the shop, featuring Valerie's beautiful stitching and Mary Flanagan wool. You can view the quilt on the left and our center to the right.
